Experience the most amazing sites Vietnam has to offer on this 7 day trip. Set sail through Halong Bay in style on our elegant ship by Oasis Bay, with a lovely jacuzzi and available spa services. After a big day around the bay and a lovely night sleep on board we will head back to hanoi for the next leg of the journey. Next take an overnight train headed near the northern Chinese border to the stunning rice field tiered mountain sides near the town of Sapa. You get an amazingly authentic experience hiking to a local village in the mountains before returning back to Sapa town for a night stay. Finish your trip in Vietnam?s capital city, Hanoi...

ITINERARY
Day 1 Overnight train to Sapa
19.30 pick up at the hotel. Transfer to railway station for a night train at 21.50 to Sapa. We travel in air-conditioned comfort in our soft sleeper cabins!


Day 2 Trekking Sapa ? Lao Chai ? Ta Van village homestay
The train arrives in Lao Cai at about 6:00 am where our guide will welcome you. Look for the sign bearing your name when you exit the train station. Then take a morning drive through the clouds by car to Sapa (about 1.5 hours). Have breakfast at a local restaurant before the trip starts. Trek with our H?mong guide down to Lao Chai village to visit the Black H'Mong . Have a picnic lunch on the way then keep going along the Sapa valley to get to Ta Van village to visit the Day people, which is supposed to be the most beautiful one in the area, where you stay overnight in a local Dzay family.

Day 3 Trekking Giang Ta Chai - Sapa
Get up early in the morning to enjoy the daily life of the ethnic minorities in the village. We follow the buffalo path to Giang Ta Chai village of the Red Dzao minority via the paths between terraces and through bamboo forests. Visit silver waterfall and suspension Rattan Bridge, visit the people in the village and then cross Muong Hoa River up to the mountain to visit the last village of the trek - Supan village of the H'mong.
After a short rest, we trek further up to enjoy magnificent scenery, visit local house of the red Dzao, visit, talk to learn about the minority pupils of Giang primary school before heading to the main road where you will be picked up by a jeep. Ride back to Sapa, the remainder of your day is at leisure to explore this fascinating hillside town.

Day 4 Visit Ham Rong mountain, Ta Phin village, Overnight train back to Hanoi
In the morning we climb up Ham Rong mountain to enjoy a cool atmosphere and charming landscapes such as cloud ground and stone garden, gardens, garden of medicinal plants, especially the garden of various orchids and specific houses on stilts of ethnic minorities.
Return to Sapa at midday we have lunch at a local restaurant and take a short drive to Ta Phin village of Red Dzao people, The Red Dao are known for their expertise in herbal medicine as well as usage of plants from the land to treat many illnesses. Your guide will be able to introduce you to some Red Dao women who can tell you more about their many remedies. A Red Dao herbal medicine bath can be arranged for you to experience, so please ask.
In the afternoon we depart for the Lao Cai train station before boarding the night train back to
Hanoi.

Day 5 Halong Bay Cruise
08:00 ? 08:30 You are collected at hotel by your guide for the 4 hour drive to Halong Bay. En route there will be a short stop at the Sao Do centre run for and by handicapped children. On arrival we board our deluxe junk, this traditional wooden sailing junk boat offers a unique way of navigating the limestone karsts of Halong Bay with all the comforts of a motorised, floating hotel. Once settled in, you start your cruise round the majestic Halong Bay while enjoying a delicious lunch. After lunch you have the chance to explore some of the limestone caves dotted around the bay. Then, the captain will find a secluded spot where you can swim in the clear water of the bay, soak up the sun on the top deck. In the evening the cook prepares a sumptuous meal as the boat weighs anchor in the heart of the bay.

Day 6 Halong bay kayaking
After breakfast, you are transferred to a day ? trip boat with private crew and another wonderful cruise to the bay?s most untouched areas to visit Tortoise island , Man's head island, Dong Tien Lake, Van Gia floating villages..., if the tides are low, we have a chance to visit Ba Ham Lakes, Three Peach Island. Lunch is served on board by your chef, your cruise continues as you move around the bay finding more secluded lagoons for swimming or kayaking. Late in the afternoon we return to the mother boat for the night.

Day 7 Halong exploration ? Hanoi
Rising to the tranquil beauty of the bay we have time for an early morning dip or enjoy a morning view of the Bay's landscapes with a cup of tea. The boat keeps cruising to float fishing village for you to have a look of local people lives on water. We enjoy brunch on board and around midday we will return to the main harbor before transferring to our awaiting vehicle for your journey back to Hanoi. We should be back in Hanoi at around 4.30 pm.
