ITINERARY
Day 1 Ninh Binh sightseeing, overnight train to Sapa
 You
are picked up from hotel and transfer by for a 3 hour
journey to Ninh Binh
Located in one of the most beautiful parts of Vietnam.
With its dramatic scenery, historical intrigues, Ninh
Binh is an ideal base to venture out on short small day
trips.
Our first stop is Hoa Lu ,the ancient capital of Vietnam
(968-1009) with two temples of two Kings. The trip
offers spectacular scenery with opportunity to meet a
host of smiling children a long the way.
Arriving in Tam Coc, we take a rowing boat trip for 2
hours on Ngo Dong river, crossing beautiful rice paddy
and through mountain tunnels of Tam Coc. This is an
ideal place for natural lovers.
In the late afternoon we visit Bich Dong Pagoda, located
on top of the mountain, the cave pagoda offers a
spectacular view of the countryside.
In the evening we jump on the night train for Sapa. We
travel in air-conditioned comfort in our private soft
sleeper cabins!
Day 2 Sapa tour, trekking Ta Van ? Lao Chai villages
The train arrives in Lao Cai at about 6:00 am where our
guide will welcome you. Look for the sign bearing your
name when you exit the train station. We take a morning
drive through the clouds by car to Sapa (about 1 hour).
At an elevation of 1500 meters, Sapa was founded in the
early years of the last century as a hill resort for
French administrators in summer time. Just soak up the
fresh climate by spending our time wandering this famous
hill town. The ethnic people are frequently seen on the
main street of Sapa and small vendors along the street
selling local textiles and handicraft
After checking in the hotel and have breakfast our guide
will pick you up for a short walk along buffalo paths
and trails through several hill tribe villages of Lao
Chai and Ta Van, home to H'mong, and Dzay people. This
is a absolutely spectacular walk through stunning
scenery inhabited by some of the friendliest people you
can meet?
The remainder of your afternoon is at leisure to explore
this fascinating hillside town.
Day 3 Visit Cat Cat valley, Heaven gate, Silver
waterfall
Wake up in Sapa town, breakfast at the hotel then our
guide will pick you up for walk to Cat Cat Village, set
in a beautiful valley just outside Sapa. Cat Cat is home
to the H'mong people who originated from China about
3,000 years ago.
We take a jeep ride out of Sapa town and visit Silver
Waterfall and further up to Tram Ton pass, the highest
mountain pass in Vietnam, nicknamed as Heaven Gate, it
is so called because one gets the feeling of touching
the sky, the heaven gates.
Day 4 Bac Ha market, overnight train back to Hanoi
Get up early for breakfast and then transferred to the
famous market in Bac Ha (2.5 hours drive)
Just before reaching the market we will see colorful
activity. Beautiful Flower Hmong people carrying hand
crafted products or pulling dogs or buffalos, all on
their way to the market. You are free to wonder around
the market and become a part of the trading activities.
Try some typical ?Thang Co? at one of the market stalls
for more of a traditional taste.
After the market we can enjoy a walk to visit the Hmong
King's former residence and Ban Pho village where
villagers make the potent local maize alcohol.
In the afternoon we depart for the Lao Cai train
station. We have dinner here before boarding the night
train back to Hanoi.
Day 5 Halong Bay cruise day trip
Early arrival in Hanoi at 5.00 we check in a hotel
nearby train station, have breakfast and take a few hour
rest before our guide and driver pick you up for a 3.5
hour journey to Halong.
Our private car and guide will pick you up at your hotel
at 08.00. The journey takes 3.5 hours. We will take a
short break in Hai Duong town to take a cup of green
tea.
Arrive Ha Long around noon and board our private junk
for a 4 hour cruise on the emerald green water of Ha
Long bay among the 3,000 spectacular limestone islands.
A fresh seafood lunch will be served on board before we
start our cruise to Thien Cung Cave (Heavenly Cave), the
most beautiful cave and famous for its stunning
stalactites and stalacimites. We keep cruising among
spectacular rock formations to Titov island where we
explore the bay by kayaking among mystical rock
formations, hidden caves as well as many secluded
lagoons. The kayaking is not only activity in places.
You have plenty of time for you own pleasure; swimming
or simply soaking up the sunshine?
In the late afternoon, we head back to Ha Long harbour
and our waiting vehicle will transfer us back to Hanoi.
Arrive in Hanoi approximately around 7.30 pm.
